Our Story

 Here's Some Vanilla
makes small-batch vanilla extract with both vodka and rum. Our vodka based Pure Vanilla Extract (PVE) is more floral and fruity in flavor, due to our use of Tahitian vanilla beans, and is perfect for all your baking needs. We use rum for the sweeter Pvt. Sparrow Reserve (PSR), which accentuates the Tahitian bean, giving it that extra kick for your frostings, candies, and cocktails. And we now offer Pure Vanilla Paste, made with Tahitian vanilla beans, vegetable glycerin, and alcohol. Additionally, our Limited Edition (LE) series is made throughout the year as special celebratory extracts that vary year to year.

How did it all start, you ask? Way back in 2014 when Douglas Henderson was asked a very simple question by a fellow cast member during rehearsals for Stage Crafters Community Theatre production of The Sound of Music - "Why don't you have an Instagram account?" He thought it was a silly question at the time, but decided, fine, okay, if that's what people want, he'll take pictures of something innocuous to satisfy their inquiry. That was how Heres_Some_Carpet came about.

Heres_Some_Carpet is exactly what it sounds like. Douglas took photos of carpet wherever he went and added silly poems to the posts to amuse himself. Eventually, there were enough posts to make a small book and so he had one made for friends and family. But then the whole thing evolved and his Instagram account changed to Heres_Some_Graves - where he basically did the same thing, but with random grave stones around the country; he is still doing it to this day!

Several years later, Douglas and his wife, Abigail Huhtala-Henderson, had the idea to start making their own vanilla extract and she suggested they keep the "here's some" theme going. Voila, in 2022, Here's Some Vanilla was born!

Our products are made in a cottage food operation that is not subject to Florida's food safety regulations; read more about it here. Each bottle contains: Tahitian vanilla beans and alcohol.
